Hi, I’m Sabina. I’m a graphic designer, among other things. My design practice is rooted in curiosity, conceptual thinking, and a desire to see differently. I’m particularly interested in making things you can hold in your hands.

I'm currently in my last year at GBC School of Design. I also have an honours degree in English and Creative Writing, which informs the stories I tell through design.

In my free time, I attempt yoga poses beyond my skill level, flood my notes app with ideas for books I’ll never write, and impulsively take on craft projects to procrastinate going to the grocery store.

MODEKA
2025

Project for Packaging course
PDP 5x9in

Modeka is a big-box office supplies company with a target demographic of middle-to-upper income business professionals and low-to-middle income students and creatives. The competitor base is diverse, ranging from big brands that prioritize approachability and clarity to more artisan brands that emphasize craftsmanship and expertise. All of these elements are a part of Modeka’s values, so it was essential to straddle the line between approachable and artisan—a dichotomy that also characterizes the brand’s two target demographics.

I chose graphite pencils packaging because I noticed a gap in the market: many large office supply brands don’t produce graphite pencils, despite their use cases in many professional fields (planning, architecture, engineering, etc.) This meant there was a unique opportunity to create highly competitive packaging that bridged the gap between inclusivity and craftsmanship.

Modeka graphite pencils packaging is warm but sleek, the rounded, geometric letterforms of the logotype creating a tone that is both innovative and welcoming. The visual identity highlights the trustworthy and authoritative personality of the brand by using clean lines, flat colours, and consistent, even spacing.
