Hi, I’m Sabina. I’m a graphic designer, among other things. My design practice is rooted in curiosity, conceptual thinking, and a desire to see differently. I’m particularly interested in making things you can hold in your hands.

I'm currently in my last year at GBC School of Design. I also have an honours degree in English and Creative Writing, which informs the stories I tell through design.

In my free time, I attempt yoga poses beyond my skill level, flood my notes app with ideas for books I’ll never write, and impulsively take on craft projects to procrastinate going to the grocery store.

DOG WHISTLE DICTIONARY
2024

Project for Typography course

The Dog Whistle Dictionary is a set of educational materials with the goal of raising awareness about political misinformation and conspiracy. It includes a set of posters titled Dog Whistle Alphabet that identifies coded alt-right political language, as well as a set of flashcards titled Believe It Or Not: A Brief History of American Conspiracy that compares alt-right political conspiracies to the real historical events.

The design style is satirical, emulating children’s classroom materials through a saturated palette, minimal illustrative style, and rounded, geometric typography. The design approach emphasizes the absurdity of the content, working both to undermine the conspiracist ideas and to have a laugh at their expense.
